Brief update on a notorious scammer “taking over” the PSX scene

Posted by Gemini on November 24, 2012

This brief update has something to do with one of my side projects from last year: psiOS.

psiOS was intended to be an operating system aimed to replicate Sony’s XMB feel and look on the PlayStation while taking advantage of a piece of hardware called PSIO. After laying down some basic code for managing the interface, the project was killed by the guy who “owns” PSIO, infamous Australian scammer under the name of Haunted, H360, Haunted360, Shad0w, and a plethora other similar aliases.

Haunted/Shad0w, who has a very bad reputation on important websites such as Assembler Games, is this incompetent guy who wants to own the PlayStation development scene while posing himself as some kind of authority and expert. Turns out he can’t program the most basic code and he has a bad habit at scamming people with fake promises about this piece of hardware called PSIO, which he based a PayPal donation account on. Guess what? His account was closed, because he results to PayPal as a modchip seller. Seems like PayPal can sniff frauds from miles away, which is more than a serious reason to kill scamming accounts for good. But hey, scammers are never happy about getting their heads in a dirty pool of mud, so now he’s simply bad mouting PayPal because they sneaked his little fraud and switched to PayMate or whatever that one is called.

His last move was censoring all the links I posted about psiOS, which, ironically, was intended to be open source from the beginning as the project was hosted on Google Code. Still, the scammer dude didn’t want it to be so because “people could see how it works!”, which is yet another symptom of his never-ending ignorance (more info in the Hall of Shame). Later he had reconsidered that idea and even asked me to go back on the project, but he still refuses to show any bits of the sources, even if they contain nothing about PSIO at all; talking about smart thinking. Then again, nothing too weird for somebody who claims to be a PlayStation legend among with a small group of smartass kids who can barely write a for statement and whose greatest ambition is writing craptastic renditions of NyanCat.

Here’s the link to the sources of psiOS and a couple screenshot, since neither can be posted on the CRAPDEV site without the scammer censoring them and banning the poster: http://code.google.com/p/psios

Guess it’s time for Haunted/Shad0w and his fraud reign to simply go down and never get up ever again. Please, let’s stop this everlasting chain of idiocy once and for all: don’t give him a cent of your money, he won’t make good use of it. Haunted/Shad0w needs to simply disappear, along with his pathetic website and vaporware projects.

Happy cow steals your will to live

Posted by Gemini on November 9, 2012

I’m writing here basically a brief note for those of you who were wondering what happened to all my projects and my website.

What was of my projects?

They are on hold until I sort out other priorities. Yes guys, I’ve been rather busy lately working on side projects and my university is sucking most of my spare time. I’ve been working on some side projects lately, like the PSiOS for the PSIO project (which is dead) and other stuff I’d rather not reveal here because I was asked not to talk about it. If you want to download my translations, they are all still available at romhacking.net under the Patch section, so nothing to worry about those.

What was of the old page?

The other blog I had on aerdan.org is more or less dead. With more or less I actually mean “for good”. I tried asking for backups, but it seems like they are not available or something. That’s not a big issue, I could always recreate the blog entirely from scratch, but given the recent priorities I have in my life, that has to wait. It’ll probably rise again from the dead somewhere in 2013, but I can’t make promises.

Regards.

Closing this blog and the comment board

Posted by Gemini on February 23, 2010

I haven’t checked this blog since when all the project pages, including Innocent Sin, moved to the new site. I’d suggest you to update your bookmarks and post only there because nobody will be here to read about issues, bug reports or particular requests regarding the translation. It’s also easier for me to keep only track of posts gathered in one place and other people can take advantage of this information.

So, sign up at out current forum board and continue posting there if you have anything to ask. As usual, please refer to the readme file contained in the translation package before asking about issues that are already well known to the team.

Already an update, damn

Posted by Gemini on October 15, 2008

Seems like a lot of you got errors with the save/load menu, especially on real hardware. Some got slowdowns, others got the infamous VRAM bug, others got the fake corruption bug. So I decided to make a new version of the patch to fix all these errors, and here it is. Hopefully this should be the last patch for a while.
/me crosses fingers
This patch also fixes a few typos left in Seven Sisters dialogues. Oh, and it’s confirmed that this is not compatible with the The Best print.

Delete your current patched ISO, get a clear one and patch it again. Have phun.

PS: Please, PLEASE, read the readme file before posting a million questions that are already answered.

All is lost…

Posted by Gemini on October 15, 2008

I knew it, I KNEW IT. I knew I had to do the goddamn backups for all the work! Now there’s no more Innocent Sin translation sources left and I’m going to have to cancel the patch entirely. :(
